Join Encore Boston Network, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ellen Goodman,
and EOEA Secretary Alice Bonner
for the launch of an exciting new campaign to improve the lives of young people.
Every Child Deserves a Fair Chance
At Encore Boston Network, we believe adults 50+ have the time, talent and motivation to help kids get a strong start in life. That’s why we’re working to connect this largely untapped resource with organizations that are making a difference. Like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Generations Inc., Jumpstart, Playworks, 826 Boston, ReServe Chelsea, and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. With these partners, we’re shaping the tools and approaches we’ll use to connect a growing number of organizations to this rich talent source.
CEN founding member Raines Cohen and several Boston-area CEN and Life Planning Network (LPN) members will be participating; join some of us beforehand for no-host coffee/breakfast at 9 AM around the corner at Au Bon Pain.

Our goal, with support from The Boston Foundation and others, is to create an innovative and sustainable human capital strategy for nonprofits and government agencies desperate for resources. This helps them achieve their missions, while connecting older adults to work that has purpose, value and impact.

We are a coalition of organizations and professionals dedicated to strengthening our communities by engaging the talents of people in midlife and beyond. We envision a Greater Boston in which people of all ages experience an enhanced quality of life.
An "encore" is continued work in the second half of life that combines social impact and purpose. Encore Boston Network (EBN) serves as a portal to the wealth of local resources for individuals interested in encores, the advocates and pathways enabling encores for others, and the social purpose employers tapping encore talent, both paid and volunteer
