Dear Grandmothers and Allies, Madonna Thunder Hawk and other Lakota Grandmothers from South Dakota are coming to the Bay Area in March. The 1000 Grandmothers are hosting their trip. We would love you to be part of our celebration.
Please join us for a screening of Warrior Women and a post-film reception with the Lakota Grandmothers Sunday March 10th at 2pm at the Bade Museum on the campus of Pacific School of Religion 1798 Scenic Avenue, Berkeley CA 94709 $10 to $40 (No one turned away for lack of funds.)
• Can you help fund our partnership? The Lakota grandmothers are weatherizing and solarizing homes on the Cheyenne River Reservation in an effort to create a carbon free and energy self-sufficient community. • Can you organize a house party? We would like to host a couple of fundraiser house meetings for Madonna Thunder Hawk and the other Lakota Grandmothers on March 11, 12, and/or 13. This is a chance to meet these remarkable women and learn about their efforts to make the Cheyenne River Reservation fossil free. Contact: Rochelle <>

Some background: Madonna is a veteran of the occupation of Alcatraz and a founding member of the American Indian Movement (AIM). She was one of the leaders of the survival school during the 1973 struggle at Wounded Knee and was part of the group that started the Sacred Stone Camp at Standing Rock.
