On September 8, Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice in San Francisco, CA
On Saturday, September 8, 11 am in San Francisco, CA Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice
Join Conscious Elders Network at the September 8 March RISE for climate, justice and jobs in San Francisco before Governor Jerry Brown's Global Climate Action Summit to show our elected leaders that we demand action on climate change. This will be the largest climate march the west coast has ever seen - and we want you there with us.
Our planet, livelihoods, and democracy are under attack - it’s time for bold leadership to reclaim our future. But to change everything, we need everyone to march in the streets and show Governor Jerry Brown and other local elected officials that we cannot stick to business-as-usual solutions for today's climate disasters.
With the 2018 midterm elections fast approaching, now is the time to engage and mobilize our communities for climate, jobs, and justice.
We will be an Elders Contingent in the march- being visible, standing up for all life and future generations! RSVP here on the Conscious Elders website and at the RISE for climate, justice and jobs website. visit our facebook event page- both have lots of good info and details for the march.
We will be marching in the 2nd Contingent with the Women for Climate Justice- gathering on Steuart St between 10 am and 11 am. See the two maps of the march below and the list of all the contingents . Drew Sproul will be there with an Elder banner highly visible so you can find him and you can all march together to the Civic Center ( 1 mile) with the expected other 50,000 participants!
At the end of the march at the Civic Center- see the murals and join us at our table for Conscious Elders- Geoff Ainscow is in charge, but will be happy to have helpers.
Here are some ELDERS posters you can print out yourself or email or take them on a USB drive to FedX office to blow them up and attach to posterboard on both sides. Or make your own, with your own message from Elders!
During the Sept 8 march, you might chose to join Molly Arthur in the Society of Fearless Grandmothers, ensuring the streets are safe during actions and speaking to law enforcement from the open heart of a grandmother- we will not be marching but being Elder Women protecting the muralists as they are painting at the Civic Center. There are trainings on Sat Sept 1 and Sunday Sept 2- email me if you are going to attend. firstname.lastname@example.org.
